Hello Alexandria, and welcome back for the 2024-2025 school year! Let me start by saying how excited I am for the opportunity to lead the students and staff of the Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School. Alex has been home for me for over twenty years and I’m looking forward to being able to continue serving our community as the principal of Alexandria Monroe Jr/Sr High School. With my twenty-two years of experience in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator, I’ll continue to strive to provide the very best for all of our students and staff. Below are a few of the different areas that separate AMJSHS from others. 

Academic Excellence

Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School continues to prioritize academic excellence. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all learners, offering a wide range of courses from advanced placement and dual (college) credit to pathways and vocational programs. With a focus on innovation and student-centered learning, our staff works to ensure that every student receives the support they need to succeed academically and prepare for their future endeavors.

Vibrant Arts Programs

At Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School, we recognize the importance of the arts in providing students with opportunities for creative expression and personal growth. Our arts programs, including visual arts, band, choir, and theater, are thriving under the leadership of our staff. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and passions in a supportive and nurturing environment, with numerous opportunities to showcase their artistic achievements throughout the school year.

Athletics and Sports

Athletics are a cornerstone of the Alexandria-Monroe experience, and our team is committed to promoting a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness. Our school boasts a variety of athletic programs, including cheerleading, golf (boys and girls), tennis (boys and girls), football, cross country (boys and girls), volleyball, basketball (boys and girls), wrestling (boys and girls) track and field (boys and girls), baseball, and softball. Students have the opportunity to participate in competitive sports at both the junior high and high school levels, fostering camaraderie, a sense of achievement, and a competitive spirit among our student-athletes.

Diverse Extracurricular Activities

Beyond academics and athletics, Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities and clubs to cater to the interests of all students. Whether students are interested in eGaming, robotics, art, chess, community service, cultural appreciation, and more, there is a club or activity that allows them to pursue their passions and develop leadership skills outside of the classroom.

Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School continues to foster a strong sense of community and collaboration among students, faculty, and families. With an emphasis on communication and mutual respect, the staff is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive school environment where every student feels valued and empowered to achieve their full potential. Creating healthy relationships is the most vital aspect of the educational process, and I’m ready to continue promoting this among our students, staff, and community.
